This week is Coeliac awareness week so I feel that today is the perfect day to
have this review up.
So what is Coeliac disease?
Coeliac disease is an autoimmune disease.
Gluten, which is found in wheat, barley and rye triggers an immune reaction in people with coeliac disease.
This means that eating gluten damages the lining of the small intestine.
- 1 in every 100 people suffer from Coeliac disease
- but only 1 in every 8 are diagnosed with it
- As Coeliac isn't widely recognised it often means that medical diagnoses
can take an average 13 years.
- Over half a million people in the UK who have coeliac disease but don't know it.
If you would like to find out more information on Coeliac disease have a look here.
Also this year celebrates the 10th Anniversary of Tesco's Free From range.
They are celebrating by adding over 100 new items to there range.
Tesco currently have a lot to offer from their range with now over 200 products,
that contain a mix of Tesco's own free from label and established free from brands
such as Mrs Crimbles and Warburtons.
As a Bzz agent I was sent some money of coupons and I got two items.
The Tesco free from seeded sliced bread and the Mrs Crimbles chocolate macaroons.
I found the bread to be very tasty and used it when making Bacon sandwich's which me and the hubby really enjoyed.
The only problem I found is that the bread become dry after 1-2 days.
As for the Macaroons having tried Mrs Crimbles products before and really loving them.
You can read my review here.
I decided this time to try the chocolate macaroons this time as I loved the coconut ones.
The great thing is that Mrs Crimbles macaroons are not only full of flavour and moist,
but you would have no idea they were from a free from range.
They are even perfect when your sitting down with your afternoon mug of coffee bliss.
