[Ad – review. I was sent a copy of this book for review purposes and all thoughts are my own]

Today I am excited to be involved in the book tour for A House Of Ghosts By W.C.Ryan. W. C. Ryan is a pseudonym for William Ryan, author of The Constant Soldier and the Korolev series of historical crime novels. His books have been shortlisted for numerous awards including the Theakston Crime Novel of the Year Award, the CWA Historical Dagger and the Ireland AM Irish Crime Novel of the Year Award and have been translated into over a dozen languages. William is married and lives in West London.

About the book:

Winter 1917. As the First World War enters its most brutal phase, back home in England, everyone is seeking answers to the darkness that has seeped into their lives.

At Blackwater Abbey, on an island off the Devon coast, Lord Highmount has arranged a spiritualist gathering to contact his two sons who were lost in the conflict. But as his guests begin to arrive, it gradually becomes clear that each has something they would rather keep hidden. Then, when a storm descends on the island, the guests will find themselves trapped. Soon one of their number will die.

For Blackwater Abbey is haunted in more ways than one . . .

A House Of Ghosts by W.C.Ryan is my first read by him and I was hooked from the beginning. It's a perfect gripping mystery for reading whilst snuggled up under a blanket this time of year.

A house of ghosts is a mix of historical fiction with crime, mystery and even a supernatural theme which is a perfectly atmospherically written.

When it comes to my favourite type of reads crime is my go to followed by historical fiction especially ones based on the war and A house of ghosts is my perfect read due to it's mix of both.  The whole story was gripping and I found myself not being able to put it down as I wanted to know what was going to happen next due to being kept in suspense.

I'm definitely going to have to read some of his other books.
