MAKING S.M.A.R.T GOALS FOR 2022

Happy New Year! I always start a new year off with setting goals. When setting my goals for the New Year I make sure my goals are S.M.A.R.T.
S.M.A.R.T stands for Specific, Measurable, Achieveable, Relivant and Timebased.

Specific - Being specific will mean breaking down what you want to achieve. Ask yourself questions such as what, where, why, when and who.

Measurable - How will you know you have completed your goal? How do you plan to track how you are doing?

Achieveable - Is your goal actually attainable? Do you have the time ?

Relivant - Is your goal worthwhile? Does it fit in with what is happening in your life currently?

Timebased - When will this goal begin and end? Set milestones along the way, what do you want to have achieved quater of away and half  the way through?

Now that I've explained a bit about making S.M.A.R.T goals I'm going to share my goals for the year ahead, there are only a few as I don't like to overwhelm myself with a long list.

1. Make it a habit to use my exercise bike 3 times a week.
The goal is by end of the year to be consistently using my exercise bike 3 times a week for 30 minutes. I plan to start off slowly and build up how long and how often I do it. I plan to do it Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays by the end of the year.

2. Get into healthy eating habits
That means for me making simple and easy swaps over the year until I'm doing them automatically. Instead of giving up things completely and all at once, this will hopefully mean I can stick at it more. There other health goals are great ideas for you to consider.

3. Read 70 books this year
Over the past few years I've enjoyed setting up reading goals for myself. I enjoy tracking my reading on Goodreads and will be doing the same this year. I read 73 books in 2020 so set a goal of 75 books for 2021 unfortunately I only ended up reading 60 so I've decided to try and read 70 books in 2022. If you are thinking of setting a reading goal too than my post on How to read more will be helpful.

4. Spend less
I plan on curbing my spending on unnecessary things this year. Hopefully this will mean I can add more to my different saving pots.

5. Make a Will/ Get Life Insurance
These are things I've not done due to not knowing where to start and are one of my top priorities to do this year, the sooner the better really.

I've also made some Home Goals for 2022 which you can read about on my other blog At Home With The Bayfords.
