June Favorites

July is here already and although its 3 days late its time to share with you mine and Blake's June favorites. Now I've been a bit silent on the blog front over the last week and this is because I decided to take a little break from blogging. I then fell ill with labyrinthitis for those that don't know what that is, its a inner ear infection which effects balance so I've been feeling rather dizzy and nauseous since Wednesday. I'm still feeling rather poorly so although I will be blogging I'll be taking it easy so wont be doing as many posts until I am feeling much better.

So my first favorite for June is a restaurant called Mama Rosa's which is based in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. We had never eaten here before even though I walk pass the place regularly.  I decided that I want to try the place out for my birthday meal so the day before my birthday that is what we did and the food is amazing. The portions are huge though and we were both unable to finish off our main as we had ordered a starter to begin with not realizing how big the portions there were going to be. I went for a pasta dish for my main which had salmon, cod and a lovely sauce topped with cheese.

My next favorite is Dream a little dream by Giovanna Fletcher. I finished this book in a week and just loved it. Its such a cute romance story which is a perfect beach read in my opinion. I've added her other three books to my collection now which I'm looking forward to reading at a later date.

I purchased the Urban Decay Naked2 eyeshadow pallet with my birthday money. Can you believe that this is the only high end make up I own. I've used a Mac foundation before which I do need to buy more off though.  I picked this up as I have the W7 dupe of this pallet which I love so I decided to get this, have fell in love and need to get the other two  Naked pallet's.

Eyeshadow colors left to right:
Foxy, Half Baked, BootyCall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YKD, Busted and Blackout.

The colors I've used the most are Foxy, BootyCall, Chopper and Tease. I love all the colors though its such a great neutrals pallet, the eye shadows are easy to blend and there is hardy any fall out like when use the dupe version. It's definitely pricey at £38.50 but I definitely think its a great investment if you love to wear eye shadow every day.

My last favorite is the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker lipgloss in Rose and Shine.
I've found myself applying this quite a bit this month and I love the color and how my lips look when i use this. It's not too sticky and I've also used this over a Matte lip crayon and love how it looks.

On to Blake's favorites first up is the Grow it: My very own garden set from Wicked Uncle.
Blake has loved taking the flowers and veg out of the pots and putting them back in again.
You can read my review here which also includes the Fix it: My very own tool box.

Next up is the Freddy the fish bubble machine from Mothercare. You can also read my thoughts on the bubble machine here. All kids tend to love bubbles and Blake is no exception he gets so excited and has loved us getting the bubble machine out this month.
We even took it over to my in laws so that he could enjoy them with his cousins in the garden.

I purchased 75 Children's Favorites CD off amazon and Blake loves me popping this on and having a little dance and wiggle on his bottom. I love that there is such a wide variety of nursery rhymes and I know the majority of them which is always handy. I definitely want to get him some more children's CDs so if you have any recommendations comment below.

As the Tesco club card boost was ending I decided to double up our club card points and use it towards some new books for Blake. I chose four books and these are the two which he is really loving at the moment.

Little Blue truck is fab little book where Blue a little pick up is driving along the country road and meets some farm animal friends on route so when he gets stuck in the mud help is on hand.

Postman bear is about a Bear who is writing letters. One, two, three. Bear goes out to post them. Who lives in this tree?" Bear is writing letters to his friends. Lift the flaps and join Frog, Squirrel and Mole for Bear's special surprise! Blake loves these kind of books and gets excited lifting up the flaps.

What do you think of this months favorites?

What Blake Wore: Summer Items with Mothercare

When it comes to buying big items for Blake such as his travel system and his cot our go to place is Mothercare. However we've rarely purchased toys and have never actually brought any clothing from there.

I was recently contacted and asked if I was interested in choosing some items from Mothercare's website.  I thought it would be a prefect opportunity to see what their clothing range is like.  I also have been eyeing up their Freddy the fish bubble machine for awhile after they had one at a local sensory class that Blake and I go to.

The Freddy the fish bubble machine is a fish shaped machine that blows out hundreds of magical bubbles. Sit Freddy in the garden and watch the bubbles float around in the breeze or create a fun and bubbly atmosphere at parties. All you have to do is make Freddy drink some bubble liquid (sold separately) and switch him on to start the fan up. The bubble wands will then rotate releasing an array of bubbles. The machine will need 6 AA batteries (not included) and retails at £16. The Machine is not suitable for under 3 years old but feel that this would be fine as it will be used with supervision and out of Blake's reach.  Mothercare also have a Flora the fish bubble machine which is in a lovely shade of pink.
The Freddy the fish machine is a lovely and colorful blue shade with a touch of green and red.

For clothing I picked out the camera graphic top which is a gorgeous shade of blue. The short sleeve  top features a cute camera hanging mock design. Which looks great  for mixing and matching with shorts, joggers, jeans and chinos. The top is made from soft cotton and ideal for everyday wear.  I really love the soft material of this top and found it to be of high quality. I picked a size 18-24 months as this is the size he is currently in and found it to be very roomy so should last him awhile so the perfect fit. The top is also great value for money at £5. As the weather has been lovely recently Blake has been living in shorts so I teamed this cute top with his navy shorts which go together perfectly.

The other item of clothing I picked out was this cute check shirt which is suitable for everyday and smarter occasions. For an everyday casual look pair with jeans or denim shorts and then for smarter occasions pair with a pair of chinos. The shirt just like the other top is made from soft cotton and is of amazing quality. The shirt has a button opening for easy dressing and on the shirt pocket there is a cute palm tree emblem.  I also picked this out in 18-24 months and found the sizing like the other top to have plenty of room for him grow. As with the other top I paired this shirt with jeans as yesterday was much cooler than it has been recently. Again the top is also great value for money and is £8.

Have you purchased anything from Mothercare recently? Have you checked out their clothing range? or maybe you want I'd love to know.
