Fisherprice: My first Thomas all around sodor

If you are regular reader you may know that Blake who is 20 months is obsessed with trains.

We have quite a few train books and a train set that he loves and now we have added a new toy to his collection the My first Thomas all around Sodor.

The Thomas set is a good size and the track is very easy to put together.The set even comes with a motorised Thomas train and cargo set. It comes with instructions but i found it simple to put it together by looking at the box as to where each piece of the track goes.  Blake was very excited when he saw the set and was very eager to play with it so I let him play with Thomas whilst I put the track together. 

There are 7 pieces of track which clip  together which are in different colors. Blake has a train set which he already loves but this is different in the sense of you press the color- coordinated buttons and Thomas automatically knows where to go. Thomas is brought to life with his eyes and mouth magically moving. By pressing the yellow button to head to Tidmouth Sheds Thomas can interact with Percy, James, Gordon, and Sir Topham Hatt. By pressing the green button Thomas will chuff over to chat with Cranky the Crane at Brendam Docks, and manually load and unload the cargo.

The set is great for little people the only fault I can think of is that I found that it sometimes derails when going round the shake shake bridge. Other than that Blake loves it and will happily sit there watching Thomas going round the track and getting us to push the buttons on Thomas to take him to the the different areas of the track.

May Favorites

Happy 1st of June everyone, so another month has gone by and we are almost half way through 2016.  Blake and I have quite a few favorites so I'll get straight into it. 

I brought two new tops this month ready for the warmer weather and they will be ideal for when we go away later in the year. They are both from Peacocks and should be still available.  The first one is this Lace Up Paisley Print Top which was £14. It has a dipped hem at the back and a criss cross fastening at the front I love the paisley print and have a maxi dress in the same print which I am yet to wear. The other top is a Red Lace Insert Vest it features a v neck and has a dipped hem at the back and was £12. 

I have been using the Mitchum solid deodorants since the end of 2015 and I don't know why I haven't included it in a favorites post til now. I find that spray deodorants don't really work that well for me as I have to keep topping up throughout the day and with this one I don't have to. They are pricey but I've never brought it full price which is usually £4.99 I look out for them to be on offer and get them in bulk at £2 each. 

I've had a bit of a summer cold during May and my nose has been bunged up quite a bit so 

I've been using both the Olbas inhaler and Olbas Oil to help with that. The oil is great on my pillow at night. 

During May I got around to reading the Unmumsy Mum and loved it I will certainly be keeping it on my bookshelf and dip into it from time to time. Also not photographed I have been loving watching Once Upon A Time on Netflix when I have some spare time. 

I was sent the new E45 Derma Protect spray moisturiser from Bzzagent and have been loving it. I'm pretty lazy when it comes to using a body lotion as I find it too time consuming but I love spray lotions as I find it more quicker and easier to apply. I tend to buy these type of lotions when on offer as they can be pricey I've seen this one sold in my local superdrug for £5.99. 

Onto Blake's favorites he's been loving his books a lot this month and one his favorites is the Usborne Noisy Farm. I picked it up from a charity shop and Blake has loved hearing all the animal noises.  He has also loved Terrific trains which I also picked up from a charity shop.

Blake's Granny picked up this cute Noahs Ark story The Great Flood which he has loved me reading to him.

Another charity shop find is this Leapfrog discovery house, he has the farm one but this month has been playing with this one non stop.  He has also loved playing with his Fisherprice piggy bank and is now trying to put the coins through the slot. 

Last of all I've included his new storage boxes as we love them. They are a great size and currently store some of Blake's Happyland toys in. They are also great quality and go perfectly with his room.

March Favorites

March has been a pretty good month as we have had Mothers Day and Easter and 

managed to fit in some lovely days out too. 

From now on I have decided to include Blake's favorites in my monthly favorites posts.

 There is a wide range of different things and as usual I don't really like to do set categories. 

I was given a chance to try out the Lemon meringue scented shower and bath cremes from Cafe De Bain for my mothers day gift guide. I wasn't asked to mention them again but I really have been loving them this month and am tempted to try out the other scents that you can find in Superdrug. 

My skin has been playing up a lot recently and been a lot more drier again so I have now started using some new products which I have been loving. 

To start with I have started using the Superdrug Vitamin E Hydrating Face mask. 

I like that all i have to do is apply it and let it sink into my skin then after 10-15 mins

rinse off the excess. 

The other two products are from Garnier and are the day and night creams from 

the New Moisture Bomb range. I'm really impressed with the range and highly recommend  the products if you have dry skin. 

I recently purchased a new tablet and went for the Samsung Galexy Tab E. 

I'd have issues with my Hudl for quite a few months so I sold it and used

the money to go towards a much better (in my opinion) tablet. 

I'm getting on well with this tablet so much better. The screen responds so much better, I've not had any charging issues either and its an ideal size too. 

I'm trying to drink more water throughout the day now as I've never really 

been good at keeping my fluids up. So I downloaded the WaterMinder app which has been 

great at reminding me to drink more water. I have it on my samsung tab but need to also download it on my phone as well. 

Last of all for me (and Stuart)  is our new bed which is the Malm Ottoman Bed from Ikea. 

I love that we decided to go for an ottoman as its amazing for storage as you can fit so much underneath. The bed we had prior to this I really loved, it was a shabby chic looking one  but we only had it for 5 months as we had so many issues.It was from Argos we ordered it and it took 2 months for it to finally be delivered after delivery kept being delayed and then 3 months later it broke so I contacted them they offered a replacement but after 2 months and being told 3 times that it had to be delayed I asked them to come and pick it up and for me to have refund. So we now have this one from Ikea which I can't fault. 

Blake has quite a few favorites this month which I wanted to share with you. 

The first being the TV program on Cbeebies called Get Squiggling. 

I left the TV on one day to entertain Blake whilst I did some cleaning and

came back in the room to find him transfixed on the alphabet song from this program. 

Its only the song he likes though because as soon as its finished hes off finding something else to do. 

Blake loves books and one of the books he has loved this month was a book

we picked up from the library called Train is on Track. I think we will need to get our own copy. He loves looking through this book and was the only book he kept picking up for us to read to him.

Well Blake has been loving the mixed berries and coconut squeeze this month 

and we have gone through 3 packs of them so far. They are ideal for popping in the changing bag as a snack or for as a dessert after lunch/dinner. 

When Stuart went to get our bed from Ikea I asked him if he 

was able to get this rug whilst there too as I thought it would be great for Blake's room. 

It's in his favorites this month as he has been playing on it loads. I'll get his cars , garage or train set out and he will sit and play for ages on it. 

Another book is the In the night garden Happy Easter book. 

I purchased this to go in his Easter basket and he actually got this book early 

as he spotted it in our room. He loves looking at the pictures and opening and closing the book. 

Last of all his this rocking horse from his Granny and Grandpa.

He loves it so much you can put him in it in front of the TV and he will sit there and put his feet up. It's so cute seeing him in it, he loves me singing horsey, horsey when he is in it too.
