2022 READING CHALLENGE | WHAT I'VE READ IN NOVEMBER

After 2 months of not reading much I've picked up on reading again and have managed to read four books. Although one of them I have been reading since the beginning of September each day. Three out of the four are thrillers which tends to be my go to genre as I love a book with good twists and turns.

Watch her fall by Erin Kelly
Ava Kirilova has reached the very top of her profession. After years and years of hard graft, pain and sacrifice as part of the London Russian Ballet Company, allowing nothing else to distract her, she is finally the poster girl for Swan Lake. Even Mr K - her father, and the intense, terrifying director of the company - can find no fault. Ava has pushed herself ahead of countless other talented, hardworking girls, and they are all watching her now.But there is someone who really wants to see Ava fall ...

Unfortunately this book wasn't for me. I liked the ballet part of the story as its different from what I have read before. However I felt it was a slow burner as I was really hoping it to get more fast paced but for me it didn't.

Rock, Paper, Scissors by Alice Feeney
Ten years of marriage.
Ten years of secrets.
An anniversary they’ll never forget.

Adam and Amelia are spending the weekend in the Scottish Highlands. The remote location is perfect for what they have planned. But when their romantic trip takes a dark turn, they both start to wonder – can they trust the one they’re with?

Because every couple tells little white lies. Only for Adam and Amelia, the truth is far more dangerous.

I absolutely loved Rock, Paper, Scissors it's the perfect twisty, thrilling read that I love.

A poem for every autumn day edited by Allie Esiri
In this gorgeous collection of poems you will find verses that will transport you to vibrant autumnal scenes, from harvest festival to Remembrance Day.

It's a beautiful read with 2 poems a day from 1st September until 30th November.

The Night She Disappeared by Lisa Jewell
2017: 19 year old Tallulah is going out on a date, leaving her baby with her mother, Kim.

Kim watches her daughter leave and, as late evening turns into night, which turns into early morning, she waits for her return. And waits. Kim phones Tallulah's friends who tell her that Tallulah was last seen heading to a party at a house in the nearby woods called Dark Place.

She never returns.

2019: Sophie is walking in the woods near the boarding school where her boyfriend has just started work as a head-teacher when she sees a note fixed to a tree.

'DIG HERE' . . .

Lisa Jewell is  one of my favourite authors and The night she disappeared didn't disappoint. Gripping and unputdownable this novel features a cold case, an abandoned mansion, family trauma and dark secrets.
