July Favorites

It's time for July favorites and its not a long one this month but I'll get straight into it!

This month I have been loving the Garnier Micellar oil infused water. I use the original Micellar water still, however I am loving this one as its aimed at being able to remove waterproof make up. I tend to use waterproof mascara everyday so this is ideal and removes my eye make up more effectively.

At the beginning of July my skin was quite bad with spots around my jaw line so I picked up the Witch Blemish Stick. This was the spot stick I used as a teenager and it still works well for me so I'm glad that I re-purchased it once again.

Tanya Burr recently released a new collection called soft luxe and in that range is a range of lip glosses. I've not purchased a Tanya Burr make up before but fell in love with her matte lip gloss in the shade Matha Moo. It's the perfect shade for me, I love the packaging and the lip gloss doesn't feel sticky or drying on my lips.

My next favorite is the Herbal Essences Naked 0% Volume shampoo and conditioner.
I have to change my shampoo regularly as my hair doesn't like me using the same ones all the time as it goes very greasy. I love the smell of these ones which is of mint and grapefruit so very refreshing.

I've not done much reading this month but I have read The girl on the train by Paula Hawkins which I found gripping and managed to finish it within 4 days.  I won't go into much detail about but if you love a good thriller and loved Gone Girl than you will most likely enjoy this book. There is also going to be the film coming to cinema's later this year so look out for that too.

Onto Blake's favorites I got him a new In the night garden book recently. I picked it as it's an Iggle Piggle one (his favorite) and also because its a lift and flap book and Blake loves books like that so this was perfect. It is also a new release which is even better.

Keeping in with the In the night garden theme I picked up this light projector. It was on a local selling site for £2 the pinky ponk projector doesn't work but the rest of it does and Blake has loved us projecting it on his wall at night before he goes to sleep.

This Melissa and Doug magnetic hide and seek board is fab. It's a magnetic puzzle with hinged doors made from sturdy wood and perfect for improving memory and fine motor skills. Blake loves this kind of thing and so even though it is recommended for ages 3 + I thought it would be a great toy for him to use when supervised.

We have done quite a few days out and this month we have loved going to the Sea Life Centre in London. Blake loved seeing all the different species and was having a fab time kicking and squealing with excitement.

Another day out we enjoyed was going to Manchester to see In the night garden live.
I'll be doing a post on this shortly so come back if you would love to know what the show and goodie bags are like.

What have you been loving in July?

March Favorites

March has been a pretty good month as we have had Mothers Day and Easter and
managed to fit in some lovely days out too.

From now on I have decided to include Blake's favorites in my monthly favorites posts.
There is a wide range of different things and as usual I don't really like to do set categories.

I was given a chance to try out the Lemon meringue scented shower and bath cremes from Cafe De Bain for my mothers day gift guide. I wasn't asked to mention them again but I really have been loving them this month and am tempted to try out the other scents that you can find in Superdrug.

My skin has been playing up a lot recently and been a lot more drier again so I have now started using some new products which I have been loving.

To start with I have started using the Superdrug Vitamin E Hydrating Face mask.
I like that all i have to do is apply it and let it sink into my skin then after 10-15 mins
rinse off the excess.

The other two products are from Garnier and are the day and night creams from
the New Moisture Bomb range. I'm really impressed with the range and highly recommend  the products if you have dry skin.

I recently purchased a new tablet and went for the Samsung Galexy Tab E.
I'd have issues with my Hudl for quite a few months so I sold it and used
the money to go towards a much better (in my opinion) tablet.
I'm getting on well with this tablet so much better. The screen responds so much better, I've not had any charging issues either and its an ideal size too.

I'm trying to drink more water throughout the day now as I've never really
been good at keeping my fluids up. So I downloaded the WaterMinder app which has been
great at reminding me to drink more water. I have it on my samsung tab but need to also download it on my phone as well.

Last of all for me (and Stuart)  is our new bed which is the Malm Ottoman Bed from Ikea.
I love that we decided to go for an ottoman as its amazing for storage as you can fit so much underneath. The bed we had prior to this I really loved, it was a shabby chic looking one  but we only had it for 5 months as we had so many issues. It was from Argos we ordered it and it took 2 months for it to finally be delivered after delivery kept being delayed and then 3 months later it broke so I contacted them they offered a replacement but after 2 months and being told 3 times that it had to be delayed I asked them to come and pick it up and for me to have refund. So we now have this one from Ikea which I can't fault.

Blake has quite a few favorites this month which I wanted to share with you.
The first being the TV program on Cbeebies called Get Squiggling.
I left the TV on one day to entertain Blake whilst I did some cleaning and
came back in the room to find him transfixed on the alphabet song from this program.
Its only the song he likes though because as soon as its finished hes off finding something else to do.

Blake loves books and one of the books he has loved this month was a book
we picked up from the library called Train is on Track. I think we will need to get our own copy. He loves looking through this book and was the only book he kept picking up for us to read to him.

You may have read my post on the Super Yummies range of snacks.
Well Blake has been loving the mixed berries and coconut squeeze this month
and we have gone through 3 packs of them so far. They are ideal for popping in the changing bag as a snack or for as a dessert after lunch/dinner.

When Stuart went to get our bed from Ikea I asked him if he
was able to get this rug whilst there too as I thought it would be great for Blake's room.
It's in his favorites this month as he has been playing on it loads. I'll get his cars , garage or train set out and he will sit and play for ages on it.

Another book is the In the night garden Happy Easter book
I purchased this to go in his Easter basket and he actually got this book early
as he spotted it in our room. He loves looking at the pictures and opening and closing the book.

Last of all his this rocking horse from his Granny and Grandpa.
He loves it so much you can put him in it in front of the TV and he will sit there and put his feet up. It's so cute seeing him in it, he loves me singing horsey, horsey when he is in it too.

So that's our favorites for March. Have you tried any of the items etc?
I'd love to know. comment below.

My facial skincare routine

Before and during pregnancy I was lucky when it came to my skin.
I have always been rubbish when it comes to a proper skin care regime as I always forgot to remove my make
up before  bed which we know is a big no, no.

Since having Blake though my skin has become extremely dry and flaky.
So I have now started looking after my skin better by sticking to a proper regime.

The products below are what I use on a day to day basis although I do change the moisturizer from time to time.

So first of all when in the shower every morning I use the Skin Therapy Tea Tree Facial Wash.
I get this from Wilko's and it costs around 90p. I love how smooth and soft my skin feels after using
this and my skin feels fresh too.
I have been using a facial wash every morning for years so this is part of my skin care routine
that I have always kept on top of.

Next up I use the Simple Kind To Eyes Revitalizing Eye Roll On.
I love this and started using it after having Blake when he was in the i'm going to keep
you up all night phase.
I love the cooling effect it has on my eyes and makes me look and feel more perkier.
I tend to always look out for it on offer when buying it and have yet to have paid full retail price for it.

I then pop on a moisturizer my current one is The Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating  Light Moisturizer.
I really love this one as it works really well at keeping my skin hydrated but doesn't leave it feeling greasy.
I also have a Nivea one that I use which I also love and find works really well.

I then leave it half an hour or so to let the moisturizer skin in before applying Nivea Daily Essentials
Express Hydration Primer. I love this primer as it helps my foundation to last all day.
I only do this step if I am going to be wearing make up if not than I don't bother.

Then before bed I use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water to remove my make up.
I use this even if I've not worn make up as it removes the daily dirt and grime from my face.
I then use my moisturizer again and then go straight to sleep,

Once a week I use the Skin Therapy Tea Tree Facial Scrub, again this is from Wilko and
costs around the 90p mark.

I then try once a week to fit in a little pamper session when Blake is in bed and put on a face mask.
I tend to use the little sachet ones from Superdrug but I have purchased one from Lush recently which you would have seen in my haul.

What are your favorite skincare products?
