OUR FAVOURITE LOCAL RESTAURANTS WITH OUTDOOR SEATING

   *This is a collaborative post*

With most lockdown restrictions lifted we have been eating out again. While the weather is lovely I've been making the most of finding local restaurants with outdoor spaces to enjoy the sunshine.  We have a great variety of restaurants and places to eat local to us that are both well known companies as well as small businesses.

Now that most events are back on too its worthwhile finding out if any of your local event venues are available again. SquareMeal is a great place to find restaurant, bars and venue recommendations. I like to look up reviews on places before I go ahead and book anywhere and SquareMeal gives me the option to do that and I can book a table at my favourite restaurant through them. I also like that when it comes to a special occasion I can find the perfect event venues especially as there are places I wouldn't have thought of. I also like that if you are planning to visit somewhere new and not sure where to eat all you have to do is type the postcode/area into SquareMeal.

The places that I have chosen to include are primarily ones that we have visited but there are a few featured that we are yet to visit but have heard good things about.  I actually did a summer bucket list which included dining alfresco at some of our favorites local restaurants and cafes.

Prezzo
Prezzo, Gainsborough is one of our favourite local places to eat at. We love Italian food and our local restaurant has great facilities including an outdoor seating area. Located in our local shopping centre Marshalls Yard, which is also within easy reach of the rail station it is a great location for a bite to eat after shopping.

The Sweyn Forkbeard

The Sweyn Forkbeard is our local Wetherspoons that has a great size licensed outdoor area. We've only eaten there once but were very impressed with the food and prices. The outside seating area is popular in the summer as we've seen it busy at times we have walked by. We like that the menu includes favourites such as jacket potatoes, burgers etc and smaller sized desserts too.

Canute
We've not actually visited here but they do have an outside area although I can't comment on how big it is or what the place is like overall I have heard good things. It is actually situated next door to Sweyn Forkbeard which are both within the town centre.

The Trent Port
Trent Port is part of Stonehouse pizza and Carvery. They have a outdoor seating area and also a litte play area for kids to run around in.  We mainly opt for a Carvery when visiting but they have many other options available as well which are just as delicious. Trent Port is situated outside of the town centre unlike the other restaurants featured.

Reeds Coffee Shop
Reeds is definitely one of our favourite little businesses near us. The food is absolutely delicious and there is a small outdoor area for you to enjoy especially as you have views of the River Trent.

The Elm Cottage
The Elm Cottage has a great outdoor space. We have yet to visit but have heard many great things about this pub/restaurant. Having seen photos they have a lot of outdoor seating available.
