It's half-term and we have Stuart's mum and her husband visiting for a few days. Today we headed to Messingham Zoo for a few hours. We like to fit as much fun stuff as we can in as it really helps to stop Blake getting bored.
Messingham Zoo is a family run business. The primary aim is to offer something different to larger zoos and wildlife parks by focussing on close up encounters with smaller, friendlier animals.

The Zoo although small has a great range of creatures from mammals to birds. The Zoo keeper was great at giving us information about all the animals and we got to stroke both a skunk and ferret. Around the site they have hygiene stations along with toilet facilities that are easily accessible.
There is a little tea room that serves cakes, sandwiches, hot snacks along with specialist teas and coffee and soft drinks. They also serve locally made Tuckers Ice cream.
There is also a little gift shop so you can take a little momento home of your visit. The gift shop is stocked with a range of animal themed products and bespoke gifts.
We definitely would visit there again as its a great place to spend a few hours.
