LIKES & LOVES| MARCH 2023

March has been a relaxed month and I've managed to watch quite a few films/shows this month as well as reading 7 books. We've had a few days out but not many but got plenty planned for the Easter holidays. Anyway let's have a look at what I've liked and loved this month.

 Netflix Films

Viking wolf

After witnessing a grotesque murder at a party in her new town, a teenager starts having strange visions and bizarre desires.

Lady Chatterleys lover

After falling out of love with her husband following a war injury, Lady Chatterley pursues a torrid affair with the gamekeeper on their estate and begins to uncover her own internal biases.

Knives out

Harlan Thrombey, a reputable crime novelist, is found dead after his 85th birthday celebrations. However, as detective Benoit Blanc investigates the case, it unravels a ploy of sinister intentions.

Glass Onion a Knives out mystery

Tech billionaire Miles Bron invites his friends for a getaway on his private Greek island. When someone turns up dead, Detective Benoit Blanc is put on the case.

Fall

For best friends Becky and Hunter, life is all about conquering fears and pushing limits. However, after they climb 2,000 feet to the top of a remote, abandoned radio tower, they find themselves stranded with no way down. Now, their expert climbing skills are put to the ultimate test as they desperately fight to survive the elements, a lack of supplies, and vertigo-inducing heights.

Luther the fallen sun

A serial killer terrorizes London while disgraced detective John Luther sits behind bars. Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary.

Noise

After moving his family into his childhood home, a man's investigation into a local factory accident connected to his father unveils dark family secrets.

Other film:

Matilda the musical

I brought this on digital download. Matilda lives with her brother and parents, who are unappreciative of her. She utilises her telekinetic abilities to settle the score after her principal brutally tortures her with the help of her kind-hearted teacher.

Netflix shows

You part 2 season 4

This was definitely much more gripping than the first part.

The snow girl

When a little girl goes missing during a parade in Málaga, a young newspaper journalist becomes fiercely determined to help Amaya's parents find her.

Red Rose

An original horror series exploring the relationship between teenagers and their online lives. Set and filmed in Bolton, `Red Rose' follows a group of friends in the summer after taking their GCSEs as their phones get slowly taken over by an app that threatens them with dangerous consequences if they do not meet its demands. A sense of danger looms over the protagonists, and whether real or imagined, the dark web or something supernatural, with a story of friendship that emerges through the convention of classic horror.

The night agent

While monitoring an emergency line, an FBI agent answers a call that plunges him into a deadly conspiracy involving a mole at the White House.

Rainbow infity light
We picked up this rainbow infinity light from flying tiger for Blake and he absolutely loves it.

2023 READING CHALLENGE | WHAT I'VE READ IN MARCH

What an absolute wonderful month of reading! I've managed to get through 7 books this month. This is especially good for me as none of them are short reads either. 2 of the reads are from book tours which you would've seen if you read my blog usually. The other 5 books are ones I've chosen from my TBR pile. Let's jump into what I've read in March.

The Last Good Summer by J.J.Green
This is the first book tour that I was involved in this month and you can read more about the book here.  The Last Good Summer is a great debut novel by J.J.Green. Set in a dual timeline of the past (summer 1986) and the present. Genre wise I'd say it's a crime/mystery and not a thriller.

REVIEW| Stylish Accessories with Meideya Jewelry

 * I was sent the 3 pieces of jewelry featured for the purpose of reviewing.  All views and opinions are 100% my own.

I recently came across Meideya Jewelry a little business who aim to offer affordable and dainty jewelry pieces. They have new products added online every week so that they always catch the fashion trends. Meideya jewelry is created to give people more style options to choose, from minimal to bold, from tiny to chunky.

Accessories are a great way of changing up your look. They can make a dramatic change whether with everyday or occasional wear. The style of jewelry you opt for is a personal choice this is why Meideya like to keep up with the trends and offer a variety of styles. I personally love dainty jewelry pieces over chunky.

BOOK TOUR | WHERE THE WATER FLOWS BY ROMOLA FARR

Ad – review. I was sent a copy of this book for review purposes and all thoughts are my own.

Today I am involved in the book tour for Where the Water Flows by Romola Farr. Romola Farr first trod the boards on the West End stage aged sixteen and continued to work for the next eighteen years in theatre, TV and film - and as a photographic model. A trip to Hollywood led to the sale of her first screenplay and a successful change of direction as a screenwriter and playwright. Bridge To Eternity was her debut novel, and Breaking through the Shadows and Where the Water Flows are standalone sequels. All three novels are set in the fictional town of Hawksmead.

Romola Farr is a nom de plume.

WAYS TO GET KIDS OUTSIDE MORE

*Ad-gifted | I was gifted the coat and hoodie featured in this post

Encouraging children to put down their devices and play outside these days is very tricky. I'm sure a lot of us can remember when we were a child and days were spent outside playing with friends and exploring nature.

Getting outside in all weather has many great benefits, including for mental health. Our aim is to get Blake outside more to play, roam and explore - I'm guessing that you want the same for your kids too. It's recommended that kids spend at least an hour each day outside, so let's look into ways to get kids outside more.
