New Forest

On Friday Stuart and I  headed off on a little holiday to the New Forest.
We spent the weekend with 7 other family members on a lovely little caravan site.

We were meant to be coming home on the Wendesday but the holiday had to be cut
short due to the bad weather as water started coming up through the awning carpet.
So we ended up coming home on the Monday instead, even though that was
a disapointment we still had such a lovely few days.

I hope that we will get to go to the New Forest again at some point.

Here are a few of my holiday snaps.

Guestpost; Salmon, Dill and Cress Quiche

While I am away today Melanie at Melanie's Fab Finds has
let me share with you one of her recent recipe posts.
Her Salmon and Dill Quiche looks fab and something that
I would love to have a go at making once I am back from my holiday.

I love quiche, it is so simple and versatile to make and it can also be quite healthy depending on what ingredients you choose to use.  Salmon and Dill Quiche is great especially now that I am pregnant as it is full of omega 3 oils that are much needed for baby’s brain development, iron which is required for mummy and baby’s blood cell formation and calcium which is good for strong, healthy bone formation in baby and to prevent reduction in bone mass in mummy .  To add to the ease of making this you can also use readymade pastry, great if you’re already feeling hungry before you start.

Ingredients

1 Pack of Jus Roll short crust Pastry

250g Smoked Salmon

60g Pecorino Romano

50g Watercress Roughly chopped

1.5 tbsp of Chopped Dill

5 Eggs, beaten

100ml of Milk

250ml of Double Cream

Freshly ground Black Pepper

Method

Roll out your pastry and line a dish that is approximately 26cm in diameter. Prick the pastry and then cover with baking paper and cover this with baking beans.

Blind bake at 200 degrees in a normal oven or 180 degrees for a fan oven for about 15 minutes.  Then remove the paper and beans and bake for a further 5 minutes by which time it should be golden.  Trim the edges so it looks nice.  Reduce the oven to 160 degrees / 140 degrees.
Whilst the pastry is cooking combine the eggs, milk, cream and dill and mix well.  Once the pastry comes out of the oven add in the watercress and smoked salmon and pour the egg mixture over the top taking care to make sure it has even amounts of dill all around.  Place in the oven and cook for 30-40 minutes, keep an eye on the quiche to make sure you don’t burn it.

You know it is ready when it wobbles a little in the middle only.

You can serve the quiche warm or set aside and serve later (that’s if you can wait that long!).  This goes well with salad so is a great healthy dish and don’t forget to use a nice big dollop of horseradish sauce, yum!

The Body Shop Fijian Range

I am currently away til Wednesday in the New Forest which I have been looking forward to.
With summer still here for a little while longer I wanted to show you some items from  the Body Shops New Fijian range

I was recently sent two items from the range which I love.

The Fijian Water Lotus range have 6 different products:
- Body Butter
- Eau De Toilette
- Shower Gel
- Perfume Oil
- Body Lotion
and
- Fragrance mist

I was sent the Body lotion and the Eau De Toilette.

The Eau De Toilette comes in two sizes mini 10ml (£5) and a 50ml bottle (£16).
The Body lotion comes in a 250ml bottle (£10).

The scent is lovely and reminds me of far away holidays on the beach in the hot sunshine, ah bliss.

Escape to the island paradise of Fiji… where The body Shop  discovered a breathtakingly beautiful water lotus. Where they carefully hand-picked these flowers and created this delicate and unique scent with water lotus notes and frangipani accords for a breeze of fragrance straight from the Pacific.

I recommend using both of the products I received together to get the most out of fragrance I'm
sure that if using the shower gel as well would make the fragrance even more long lasting.

Have you tried the New Fijian Range?

Shloer Celebration

With moving into a new home which will be our family home once little wiggle bum arrives in December.
We decided that a fresh start is worth celebrating but with being pregnant champagne is out of the question.

So what better than being able to have a glass or two of Shloer Celebration!
Shloer has got even bubblier and putting more fizz into special occasions.
Shloer celebration is a alcohol free bubbly served in a celebratory style bottle with a popping cork
giving your special occasion an extra sparkle.

Shloer has long been the alcohol free drink of choice for those looking into indulge into a glass of
something special. So if your not drinking , you can still enjoy the sense of an occasion and sip
on a tall glass of chilled bubbles.

Shloer Celebration comes in two different flavors of sparking grape juice
white grape and rose.

I have always loved a bottle of Sholer as generally I've never been much of a drinker.
I think that Shloer will be the drink a lot of pregnant women will go for
as it has such a pleasant taste and you feel like you are drinking something special.

I love the idea of celebration range even more due to extra bubbles and fizz.
Shloer Celebration is available in supermarkets nationwide and Retails at £2.99 for a 75cl bottle.

Will you be trying the new Shloer Celebration?

First Night Essentials

When moving house, you can often get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the day, and when it comes to your first night you can be left with piles of boxes and not knowing which one holds your toothbrush! Luckily Eco Movers have sent me this handy infographic that displays what essentials you might need for the first night in your new home.

If you need any further help about what to do after your move, About Home has a great checklist that can help you identify anything that you could potentially forget. I have found the checklist extremely helpful when it has come to our move as I know a lot of things can get forgotten.

Sea-Band Mama

Many expectant mothers suffer from morning sickness.
For me I mainly suffered from nausea and had sickness only a few times a week up until approx week 14
 of my pregnancy.

Although I have had the occasional bout of nausea if i get too hungry.
Which I learnt to curb after a while by eating regularly

I have heard though that some mum's to be start getting  morning sickness again when they hit
the third trimester.

I am entering my third trimester in just over six weeks time which is a little scary considering how
quick this pregnancy is flying by.

I wish I had tried Sea-Band Mama in my first trimester.
However I am going away on holiday soon and knowing that the heat plus travel
is probably going to affect me, I am going to put this in my handbag just in case

Sea-Band Mama is a drug free morning sickness relief.
Scientific studies have shown that one of the most effective drug free treatments
is acupressure on the P6 point between the two central tendons near the wrist.

The plastic studs on the Sea-bands applies continuous pressure to each wrist preventing
or relieving the feel of nausea.

Have you ever used Sea-band mama to help with morning sickness? If so did they work for you?

Amie skincare

So today is one week until we move into our new home.
Its exciting but the idea of packing and unpacking boxes is something I dread doing.

Today I am sharing with you a brand i tried out when I first started blogging 2 years ago.
Amie is a skincare and beauty brand suitable for sensitive skin.
Amie products have a gentle and natural formula that is hit with all ages.
Amie is created to help your skin have the perfect balance.
Their products are on average made from 95% natural ingredients and are pH balanced and dermatologically tested.

Amie Morning Light Hydrating Daily Moisturiser is rich in rose extracts, rose hip and mallow
to keep skin soft, hydrated and nourished all day long.

My skin has been really dry and flaky recently which I believe is down to pregnancy hormones
and using this product has made my face feel smooth, soft and hydrated again.
I loved using Amie back in 2012 and still recommend them as their products are ideal
for sensitive skin and suitable for all ages.

I love the fact that they also have a make up range which I hope one day to be able to try.

Have you ever used Amie products before?

Little Bear Slippers

Today is a short post as I just had to share with you what I decided to buy bubba

Aren't these slippers just so cute even though we didn't want to buy too
much before we move Stuart and I just couldn't resist them since there was
only 2 pairs left.

Walkers Do Us A Flavour

At the beginning of the year Walkers launched the Do Us A Flavour campaign.
After the last time they did this campaign with flavours such as the likes of Cajun Squirrel
and winner Builders Breakfast it was a success.

This year there were a staggering 1.2m entries and now the six finalists have been announced.
The 6 New Flavors to vote for are out:
- Ranch Raccoon
- Hot Dog and Tomato Ketchup
Cheesy Beans on Toast
- Pulled Pork with Sticky BBQ Sauce
- Chip Shop Chicken Curry
and
- Sizzling Steak Fajita

The judges were David Walliams and Marco Pierre White.

So  I decided which were my favourites and in order of preference they are:
1. Hot Dog with Tomato Ketchup
2. Chip Shop Chicken Curry
3. Pulled Pork in a Sticky BBQ Sauce
4. Cheesy Beans on Toast
5. Ranch Raccoon
6. Sizzling Steak Fajita

Hot Dog with Tomato Ketchup
Me and the hubby both agreed that Hot Dog with Tomato Ketchup was our favorite.
My reason being it brings back the fun of childhood and eating hot dogs on a lovely
summers day at the fair. The taste for us was spot on!

Chip Shop Chicken Curry
This was full of flavour and was really enjoyable.
We love chicken curry and this was a perfect flavor so definitely deserves the 2nd place spot.

Pulled Pork in a Sticky BBQ Sauce
This was soooo good! I love Pulled Pork at the moment and we are a huge fan of bbq sauce so it
is a perfect combination.

Cheesy Beans on Toast
I love cheesy beans on toast and cheesy beans on
toast flavoured crisp's are yummy.
I think there are going to be a fair few children and parents alike who will love this flavour.

Ranch Raccoon
A flavour that although sounds strange is rather lovely.
If you love ranch dip then you will like ranch raccoon as it tastes like that
but with a meaty aftertaste that is rather quite nice.

Sizzling Steak Fajita
I am a huge fan of fajitas but was hugely disappointed in this flavour.
The meaty taste was quiet strong and for me was slightly like raw meat
with a only a hint of fajita flavouring which made it quiet bland.

Have you tried the Do Us A Flavour crisps yet?

KLM Maternity Wear

Thank you for all your lovely comments regarding my 20 week scan.
Last week I received some lovely maternity clothing from KML Maternity Wear.
When it comes to clothing I love nothing better than feeling comfy which is a must when pregnant.

KML Maternity Wear specialise in designer and quality maternity and breastfeeding wear, for the fashion conscious mummy to be.
The range of maternity and breastfeeding clothes flatter and complement your growing bump
and are functional as well as discreet when it comes to breastfeeding.

I was sent two pairs of black leggings and a casual grey top.

The Grey top is a great length for wearing with leggings as its long enough to prevent riding up.
The top has ruched sides to to enhance your bump and is made from soft cotton jersey with a hint of
elastane for extra stretch.

The first pair of leggings (pictured) are soft and stretchy with an elasticated waist that fits perfectly over your bump. I was also sent another pair of leggings which are made with much thinner material ( not pictured)
which I have found ideal in this hot weather we have been having recently.
