WHY EVERY MAN SHOULD OWN A MADE TO MEASURE SUIT

 *This is a collaborative post

Every man should have at least one made to measure suit in their wardrobe. Just like for women owning a little black dress, a made to measure suit is a classic item that is bound to get lots of wear out of. For some men a made to measure suit seems like an indulgence, in todays age suits aren't worn as often everyday as workplace dress codes are becoming more relaxed. However made to measure suits are ideal for special occasions and a worthwhile investment.

Occasions a made to measure suit would be suitable

A made to measure suit isn't just ideal for one occasion. Here are a few occasions you may wish to wear a made to measure suit.

- Wedding

- Important business meetings or events

- A charity event

- A sporting event, e.g. horse racing

WOMEN'S AUTUMN JACKETS WITH LANDS'END

* I was  gifted the jackets featured for the purpose of this post. All views and opinions are 100% my own.

With Autumn in full swing, the change of weather has definitely been more noticeable. So what a better time to share my women's autumn jacket picks for 2023. We love spending time outdoors as a family and keeping warm and dry is a must this time of year. There are many different autumn jacket styles to choose from for the new season and so I'm sharing with you three different styles from Lands'end that are also available for plus size women.

As a plus size women I personally can find it tricky to find jackets/coats that fit me well with space to wear a cosy jumper underneath. Then I came across Lands'end which I am happy to report fit comfortably without me needing to size up.

AD| SS20 Swimwear Trends with Protest

*Collaborative post

Spring is starting to arrive which means summer won't be that far behind. Hopefully we will get some lovely weather here in the UK, I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway.  Today I get to share with you some of the wonderful swimwear trends for SS20 with Dutch brand Protest.

So if you are staying in the UK or heading abroad this year there are wide range of Bikinis, swimsuits and more available from Protest.

About Protest
Protest are a Dutch brand who have been around since 1996 who specialise in both swimwear and ski wear. They have such a wide range of different swimwear products online, available in different styles that you are spoilt for choice and are bound to find something that is suitable for you.

The SS20 collection
The SS20 swimwear collection features a wide range of different styles of swimwear in bright and bold colours and patterns. They also have more subtle colours available if that's more your thing too.

Today I am going to chat about 4 of the  different swimwear styles available for women. I'm not an expert in swimwear to be honest as I'm definitely not body confident and I've never actually had the confidence to wear a bikini.

1. The Swimsuit
The swimsuit is what I've always opted for when it comes to swimwear. It's a great option for women who are like me and just not that comfortable with the idea of showing their tum. The great thing is you can get so many beautiful colours and prints that you can still wear swimwear and feel more relaxed and comfortable. I tend to opt for ones that have extra padding in the cups as I need the support.

2. The Tankini
The tankini is a great option as it's in between wearing a swimsuit and a bikini.
I remember wearing one, one holiday when I was 15. It's great if you want to feel like u are wearing a bikini but feel anxious about showing all around the pool/beach.

3. The Push-up Bikini
If I ever get the confidence to wear a bikini I'd opt for the push-up. The push-up bikini is ideal for those that need a little more support and give you a great shape. Push-up bikinis are more of a structured fit and also have extra padding.

4. The Triangle Bikini
The triangle bikini is a great option for those of you with a smaller chest. They tend to be the most fashionable option but not the most practical especially if you are into being active on holiday. I certainly wouldn't play volleyball wearing one.

Now I've spoken about women's swimwear I can't forget the men can I? Protest also sell swimwear for men and the most popular option are boardshorts. Protest have many different styles and designs available for the SS20 season.

Protest are kindly giving my readers 10% off their order. If you fancy purchasing from Protest than use the code joanna10 at the checkout. The code is valid until June 30th 2020 so you still have plenty of time.

Summer wishlist with Spartoo

I'm so excited for the summer especially with going on holiday in June. I'm hoping that the week we have away will be filled with sunshine. With this in mind I've compiled a wishlist of a few summer fashion items from Spartoo.
All the items I have picked are from the women's section however they also cater for men and children with a wide selection of clothing and accessories.

Vero Mods | £25.99
Maxi dresses are my favourite thing to wear during the summer months. The dress above is very similar to maxi dress I already own but not as bright. I tend to find navy suits me well and I adore the floral print.

The maxi dress below is different from any maxi dress I've had and I really love its bright colours. I think this dress is the perfect summer look with not only the bright colours but the wrap style bust area looks flattering.

Desigual £65.99

Having a great bag to carry things around during the summer is ideal.  I love the look of the casual Superdry beach bag for lazy days on the beach. It's a great size for fitting in all your beach essentials.

The Guess Trudy Satchuel is fashionable and practical bag for daily use and looks great when you are dressed up or down. It comes in 5 different colours too so that you can choose one that suits your taste.
Superdry £34.39
Guess Trudy Satchel  £135

I love to have a good selection of comfortable shoes during the summer. Even though I rarely wear heels these stunning colbalt blue Moony mood sandles have made it to my wishlist. They would go perfectly with the Desigual maxi dress.

The second pair of shoes are these stunning Ralph Lauren ones. Admittedly they cost more than I ususlly spend on a pair of sandles however they remind me of a similar pair I own which are so comfy and go with everything.

Moony Moon £17.59

Ralph Lauren £71.99

What are your summer fashion essentials? Have you ever purchased anything from Spartoo?

Winter Wear with JD Williams

It's been so cold recently in Bedfordshire and we even recently had snow. We didn't get a white Christmas however it was the first time that Blake had experienced snow and unfortunately he wasn't keen.

So if you have snow near you and you don't fancy going out in it and just want to relax at home and pop on some pyjamas and get all wrapped up and cosy than JD Williams have some lovely ones available.

If like me you like to buy more than one pair of PJ's than you will love this navy/cream pack of 2 which you can mix and match. The pack of 2 pyjamas are in delicate floral and polkadot prints. Featuring button-placket detail, round neck and elasticated bottoms. If you want to get your hands on them they are now down to £11.70  from £24.

Even though Christmas is over you may still want to get your hands on some festive PJs especially if they are adorable like this Bambi Christmas set.  The super soft cotton set is bound to keep you cosy all night long. Featuring a Bambi motif printed top, and matching jogger bottoms with elasticated tie waist. These are definitely my new favourite to snuggle up in and are now £22.95 down from £28.

Last of all it's not too late to find the perfect dress for that special occasion. JD Williams have some lovely cocktail dresses so you are bound to find one that is perfect for the occasion you are purchasing for.  This Lovedrobe V-neck dress is perfect for making you sparkle this season with frill sleeves and stardust print this dress is flattering and comfortable. The dress is knee length and comes in a waist-cinching fit-and-flare shape, and is sleeveless with a pretty frill detail that falls over the shoulders.  I love the wrap over neckline and at £55 its a pretty dress that's worth wearing again and again!

Autumn Pre-School Run Wishlist

Now that autumn is here and Blake started Pre-School last week I have compiled a wishlist of Items that I would like for when I am doing the Pre-School run.

I am in need of a much better coat for the Pre-School run ,as the last few weeks I have found my usual coat isn't as waterproof as I would like it to be. I really love this navy design by Joules as it looks stylish but also will keep the rain off me. I love that its a neutral colour so will go with a lot my clothing and accessories.

Another item is a comfy pair of shoes. I like to wear boots in autumn/ winter however my current pair have left me with blisters. I love wearing black knee high ones and this pair look great with a zip down the side and a small heel meaning they should be comfy. I love black boots as they go with everything that I wear.

It's lovely to have my own bag again and not having to use a changing bag anymore. I do love the one above as its smart looking and a good enough size for what I need as I don't take much with me these days. As with the boots I like black bags as they go with everything I own and so are perfect when I am popping out to do the school run.

Not an essential however I'd love a fitbit flex 2 as I'm starting to get into the idea of tracking my steps. I think it's a great way for you to know if you are doing the recommended amount of steps in a day. I'm certainly walking a lot more than I use to thanks to doing the Pre-school run most days.

What are your Pre-School/School run must have's for the autumn?

What Mummy Wore: Summer with Simply Be

We have had such gorgeous weather recently and so it's time to get the summer clothing out. When it comes to summer clothing I tend to struggle with being currently plus size I seem to hate what my body looks like in most of the summer items I own especially around my tummy area.

I like to wear pieces during the summer months that can be mixed and matched so I don't have to make too much effort when it comes to planning an outfit. I was asked by Simply Be to choose a few items that I can mix and match.

After browsing their website I picked out a gorgeous rose print cardigan and some tops from their holiday clothing range and also a pair of jeans from their selection of plus size jeans.

I wear leggings a lot and so when I found a pack of two side split tunic tops I thought they would be ideal for throwing on paired with my usual leggings. They are perfect for the summer as they are lightweight, loose fitting and cover my bum. I like that the tunic tops cover my tummy area well without clinging either which is a must.

The cardigan that I chose is perfect to wear with the tunic tops when the weather is cooler.
The cardigan has a lovely rose jacquard design to the front and back panels which I love as I'm seeing floral patterns around quite a bit this season. I do wish I had gone for the smaller size as I feel that it would have fit me a bit better than my usual size as it's a little baggy so you may want to bear that in mind.

The other top that I chose was this frill sleeve top which is a versatile piece that I will be wearing again and again this summer. Not only is ideal to wear with the Jeans that I chose below but it will great with skirts and shorts this summer too. I love the colour as well as the frill sleeves which also happen to be on trend this summer.

My favourite item that I picked out has to be these high waist button front slim leg jeans. I've wanted to try high waisted jeans for awhile and I'm glad I did as there is no going back now.
They are great at covering my mum tum which is great when your bending down and running around a lot. They are great for dressing down with my pair of converses and up with a pair of heels. High waisted jeans are now a definite must have piece in my wardrobe now and I fully recommended getting yourself a pair or two.
