Shedding Light on Daylight Saving Time From Tempur

Tonight is time to turn our clocks forward for daylight saving.
Now that British summertime will soon be on it's way we may
loose out on an hours sleep tonight  however it will be much
lighter in the evenings.

Below is an interesting infographic regarding daylight saving which
also has some tips on preparing for the leap forward tonight.

Ways to celebrate your Anniversary

On February 4th 2014 me and Stuart will have been married for two wonderful years.
We married in a local church and then had a reception at a hall not too far away.
We had a 4 o clock wedding, with approx 50 friends and family members and
then a lovely meal and then the snow decided to come making
people leave before the evening had really begun.
Still we had a wonderful day as it was about us making our vows and
spending the rest of our life together.

I have decided to compile a list of ideas for celebrating your anniversary
whether you have been together 1 year or for 50 years.

1. Write an anniversary letter
this year I am going to give my hubby a personal letter

2. Bake an anniversary cake together
I love this idea we can have this as dessert instead of having one when we have a meal out

3. Have a meal out at your favourite restaurant and dress up
of course the frugal bit of this would be that you order a starter and a main
or just a main to save you £'s and still have a good time.

4. Have a 2 meals for £x meal deal thing
We will most likely do this for valentines this year however it's a fab
idea if you want to save more £'s instead of going out.
Most supermarkets do these deals in the past we have got them
from Tesco, Morrison, Marks and Spencer and Waitrose.

5. Do joint gifts
This year for cotton we are doing a joint gift which after
our anniversary I'll show you.

6. Enjoy a lovely breakfast together
Make something that you don't normally have that often
such as scrambled eggs and salmon or pancakes.

7. Go out for coffee and cake
If your a fan of Costa or Starbucks why not enjoy a mid morning or afternoon
coffee and cake.

8. Go for an evening walk and watch the sunset
I love the idea of going to a lake we have in our area for a walk and seeing the sun setting.

9. Recreate your first date

10. Play your first dance song

11. Go through your wedding album together

12. Have an annual wedding anniversary photo of you both

13. If you can afford to go away for the week/weekend or evening just for the night

14. Go and see a show at the theatre

I hope you like my ideas if you can think of anymore I would love to know :)

Review: Eco2life

Eco2life products are an ethical way to promote eco friendly
cleaning products to the UK and the rest of Europe.

Their vision

- To deliver an outstanding cleaning performance.
- Provide products that appeal to people with an eco- conscience
by being naturally derived as "green"  as they can possibly make them.
- Everything they use in the products are made from renewable sources
and meet the most stringent environmental standards.
- Aim to minimise your carbon footprint

I was sent their 4 cleaning ranges
Multi Surface, Glass, Floor and Bath & shower.

Multi surface

Made using coconut, corn and vegetable derivatives with a lemon and ginger fragrance.
The multi surface cleaner can be used all over the house I liked using this
in the kitchen making all the surfaces smell fresh and clean.

Glass.
This can be used on windows, mirrors etc , making everything sparkle.
This product has a lovely lemon and ginger fragrance.
I used this cleaning the bath room mirror and love the fresh clean scent
it really left the mirror sparkling.

Floor

I used this cleaner in the bath room and kitchen area
my floors ended up much cleaner and smelt lovely
and fresh.

Bath and shower

I used this instead of my usual bathroom cleaner and found that I liked
using it much more.
It removed dirt and dust easily and now my bathroom
looks more clean, fresh and more inviting.

I really like all of these products as you can see in the photo they do come in a small bottle
but you get the 500ml empty bottle to put it in and you just fill it half with water pop the liquid in
fill the rest up with water put the lid on give it shake and your good to go.

If you would like to buy this brand check out their website.

Review: EcoForce and Dishmatic

Recently I have been sent some Ecoforce products and
a Dishmatic to review.

Ecoforce sell a range of practical and effective household cleaning products that are more environmentally friendly than alternatives which they call virgin plastic.
Ecoforce products are made from approx 90% recycled waste and work just as well,
if not even better than products that are made from virgin plastic. Meaning that by buying these products you are helping to reduce landfill and conserves fossil fuels.

As you can see in photo below I was sent a Ecoforce Peg Basket which retails at £2.99
The basket is strong and durable made from 94% recycled plastic with a handle with a hook enabling you to hang it on the line while you're hanging out your washing.
The price of the product also includes a pack of 24 Ecoforce recycled clothes pegs. The pegs on their own retail at £1.49. They are made using a unique design from a single piece of plastic, making the pegs stronger, safer and more energy efficient to produce. The pegs are extremely tough so can stand the strongest weather conditions
They are British so made from British waste. Ecoforce also sell a clothes line for £1.99 made form 89% of recylced plastic which I wasn't sent.

I was also sent a range of cleaning products which are handy for most areas of the home.
- Ecoforce Scourers
- Ecoforce sponges
- Ecoforce cloths
- Ecoforce Dusters

Ecoforce scourers retail at £1.49 a pack.I was sent a three pack of the two different types.first up is the heavy duty pads that are easy to  grip and are ideal for cleaning toughand baked on mess quickly and easily. Then there are the non scratch pads that are also easy to grip, and are ideal for using on delicate non stick surfaces without scratching.

The sponges also retail at £1.49 in a pack of 2
they are super absorbent made using 100% recycled foam are easy to grip. Each of the packs have one of each type of scourers as mentioned above.

The cloths are a favourite so far of mine and retail at £1.49 for a pack of 2
they are super absorbent and quilted  that are made from high quality recycled materials. The multi purpose cloths can be used wet or dry and extra soft which are Z-stitched for strength. They are also machine washable. As for the duster they are made from a mixture of recycled cotton/viscose and synthetic fibres.

I also love the food bag grips that I was sent which retail at £1.49
They are made from recycled plastic with a mixture of pre and post consumer waste.
They are great and reducing food wastage by keeping food fresher for longer.

Ecoforce do not compromise on the quality or the price of their products meaning that they offer a greener and more ethical choce when it comes to buying everday household products. Ecoforce products can be found in most supermarkets nationwide and oxfam, homebase and B&Q storeas well as online with Ocado.

I was also sent a Dishmatic which I love. The Dishmatic is a good quality sponge scourer with a fillable handle. The handle is  designed so that it is long lasting so that only the sponge scourer needs replacing. Its very simple to use, you fill the handle with your normal washing up liquid and then just scrub away. The handle has a cleaver cleaning angle to give better access when cleaning awkward crockery and pans.

Dishmatic also is eco friendly and helps to save money as it only dispenses as much
liquid as you need. Dismatic also protects your hands as you will no longer be submerging your hands in hot soapy water . Dishmatic is sold in all major supermarkets RRP: £1.47 refills are £1.58 (pack of three) and the Dishmatic brush is £1.99

Overall I rate the Ecoforce products and the Dismatic highly. They are great products that I will be recommending to my family and friends. I know my mum is a huge fan of Dismatic anyway so I know that she would also love the products by Ecoforce too.

Review: Special K Biscuit Moments- Strawberry

The other day I was lucky enough to receive
a voucher in the post (thank you facebook)
for a free box of Special K Biscuit Moments
(strawberry).

If like me you are trying to loose weight
but are a terrible snacker than
these are ideal.

Special K  Biscuit Moments come in two yummy flavours Strawberry and blueberry and are just 98 calories for 2 biscuits.
The biscuits are light with a strawberry centre topped with a drizzle of vanilla.
Not bad for £1.99 for 10 biscuits.

What's In My Wedding Keepsake Box?

I know a lot of you bloggers out there do a What's In My Bag? posts. However I wanted to do something a little different, the contents of my bag isn't that exciting just a load of receipts that need sorting out and a purse that is falling apart along with a mini hairbrush and some other junk.

So yes I am doing a What's In my Wedding Keepsake Box post instead.

It took me awhile to find a good sized, sturdy and reasonably priced keepsake box.I found that they were either too small or they looked as if they would break easily and if I did see a good one it was overly priced at approx £40 sometimes more.

So when I found this one in Leighton Buzzard I was thrilled its perfect size to fit everything in, it's good quality and I can see it lasting forever and was only £25.

Below is contents that it holds

First off all which I didn't photograph is out guestbook. We opted for a traditional book but there are many other guestbook ideas.

The wedding cards from people we have a pile of them that I have tucked away in a plastic little bag.

I had to do a photo of this wedding card separate from the other photo as its so awesome Stuart's cousin Claire made this she loves doing little cross stitches.

This is another one of her cross stitches that she did for our wedding acceptance card .

My wedding lucky horse shoe from my mum reads "Just Married"
