Halloween Bath Bomb Haul | Emma's bath bomb Delights

I love nothing better than a relaxing bath as one of my self care treats and I also love anything themed. So with that in mind I knew I wanted to do a Halloween bath bomb Haul. I think it's so important to support little businesses so I decided to purchase from Emma at Emma's bath bomb Delights.

I've purchased from Emma before when she was doing a Tenner Tuesday deal and got a few shower steamers, shampoo bar and a shower Jelly from her but this is my first bath bomb order and on opening my packaging they smell amazing.

So read on to see the 5 products I chose as my halloween treat:

If you love the nightmare before Christmas this Skelly bath bomb is a treat. It's scented in angelic perfume and I'm excited to use this one as it has hidden colour. I'm sure I'll share on social media when I use this one.

The haunted house bath bomb is the biggest of the 5 I've chosen and is scented in jelly bean. Again this has a hidden colour, if you don't follow Emma on facebook you need to as she often shares videos of some of her bath bombs in use and they are so relaxing to watch.

If you are still a fan of unicorns than this whitchy unicorn is for you. It's scented in strawberry bon bon which really does smell amazing.

This sugar skull one smells of candy floss and as you can see the colours are so bright and I know this one is going to definitely give my bath a beautiful colour.

Last of all the black rose bath bomb which was crying out to me when I saw this on her website. It's scented in black opium. You do have to take this one out of the container and pluck of the petals off to lather up with water to use as a soap.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Emma comes up with for Christmas.

Cake Angels Creepy Cupcake Kit

Baking is something we don't do often enough in our home. I am busy a lot of the time if I'm not playing with Blake I am out at groups or at the park with him. If I am not doing them things I am either cleaning or blogging and so sometimes find there just aren't enough hours in a day to bake.

That's why when Cake Angels got in touch to see if I wanted to make some cupcakes using their creepy cupcake kit and some sprinkles I jumped at the chance.

All you have to do is add 1 egg, 6g of butter and some water to the mix. There is even cupcake cases and some edible decorations included as well as some icing to make up by just adding a small amount of water.

This is how the cupcakes turned out after being in the oven for 15 minutes. One thing I have to comment on is that the box states that it will make 10 cupcakes I used 2 boxes and it only made 11 cupcakes instead of 20.

Once the cupcakes had cooled down there was the fun part making up the icing and decorating them.

The kit is simple to use which makes it fun for doing with children as its so easy to do.
Children will love mixing the ingredients and then decorating the cupcakes once they have cooled down. Blake isn't really interested in this kind of thing yet as he is more interested in getting into mischief climbing and running around. As he gets older kits like this will make baking fun and easy.

Have you used any of Cake Angels baking kits? Will you be making some treats this halloween?

Reasons I love autumn

I love autumn and winter, this time of year is my favorite I get to start wearing jumpers and boots and get to wear leggings or tights with dresses.

Here are some of the reason's I love the Autumn months:

Leaves changing color
The leaves look so pretty with browns, oranges and golden colors and I love walking through the leaves that have fallen from the trees.

Walks
I love going for walks more in the autumn there is nothing better than being wrapped up warm and being in the cool air.

Autumn/winter food
Stews, casseroles, soups, porridge with apple and cinnamon, I could go on.

Autumn scented candles
I have started to light up my autumn wreath candle and love autumn scents like these that make me feel happy this time of year.

Wrapping up warm
I love to wear extra layers, snuggly jumpers and also when i'm in doors using my thermal blanket to keep warm.

Stay indoors
As well as spending time outside I love staying at home and snuggling up with my husband watching TV and feeling all cosy.

Hot drinks
I love enjoying a steaming mug of hot chocolate, warm mulled wine, autumn themed coffees etc.

Autumn activities
I can't wait to start doing activities with Blake such as looking for conkers and pine cones, collecting leaves for art work. I'll be compiling an autumn bucket list to share with you soon of what we plan to get up to.

Halloween
I was only into Halloween as a child and as i got older never really enjoyed it much.
Now I have Blake I'm looking forward to dressing him up and doing Halloween activities with him.

Bonfire night
We will be missing it this year as we will be in Cape Verde but I love bonfire night and enjoy watching fireworks from the safety of our home.

Is Autumn your favorite season? What do you love most about Autumn?

Blake's First Halloween

So yesterday was Blake's first Halloween, now originally we weren't planning to do anything with regards to it.
This is because we aren't really big on Halloween so don't in general tend to do anything for it.
The initial plan was that we would wait for Blake to be a little older to participate in Halloween and dressing up
but in the end we changed our mind.

I had found out that the NCT were holding a Halloween fun morning at a local School with sensory activities etc so we booked tickets as thought it would make a change to do something different on a Saturday morning.

I am so glad we changed our mind and actually did do something for Halloween even though Blake won't remember a thing it's still something to look back on.

For Blake's costume we chose to dress him as a pumpkin.
We already had a black top and black trousers so it was pretty simple we found this
pumpkin top for £1 in Wilko to go over his black long sleeve top.

At the event there was a few bits to do that were suitable for his age our favorite is the sensory tray.
The trays each had uncooked red lentils with pumpkins of different shapes and sizes with spoons etc so that they could have a play about. Some of the trays also had cooked spaghetti that had been colored, shaving foam, pine cones and other various sensory bits and bobs.

There was also a musical session with Halloween songs and music which Blake also loved.

I hope you all had a lovely Halloween?
I'd love to know what you all got up to and what you or any children you have dressed up as.
comment below.

Halloween Zombie Make Up

I was sent this Fiendish Face Of Fear Kit from Asda which contains make up to make a range of Halloween looks.
The package is also a book to give you some inspiration from vampires to witches.
I've never done make up for Halloween before as when I was little me and my sister would dress
up as witches every year wearing mask.

Also as I got older I've not really been into Halloween.
But I think it will be more fun again when our little one is here with dressing up etc.

This year I decided to try a simple zombie make up look using the kit.

First of all I used the white cream make up all over my face and
then used the black make up crayon all over my eye lids and then under my eyes
before smudging it with my fingers I then used the black lipstick on my lips

Hope you all had a fab Halloween
What did you and/or your children dress up as?

For the food and drink I would start off with a lovely pumpkin soup which I would make gruesome
by adding prawns too it to make it look like maggots.

The main would be spooky pasta with cheese sauce which I would use food coloring to make
green and then add cheese to make it look like cobwebs and black olives to look like beetles.

For Dessert there would be some yummy looking pumpkin cookies and some
blood curdling cupcakes. I would make the cupcakes so that some oozed jam to look like
blood and some that would ooze green fondant to look like slime.

As for drinks I would have a wide range of cocktails in goblets like the ones below
I would make them hauntingly delightful by adding jelly worms and floating eyeball sweets.

If I was to win the competition I would choose the Tempo Dining Set so that we had enough space to have
everyone over for Christmas.
I love the sleek black design with chrome frame finish and black glass top.

Review: Aldi Halloween Special Buys

October is here and soon Halloween will be here.
For many people buying a costume can be a bit of a chore
especially  if you have little ones.

I've not actually dressed for Halloween for quite a few years now.
But me and the hubby like to spend Halloween eating a takeaway and
watching horror movies.

But this year I want to have a little fun with Halloween and wear this
witches hat to get  me into the spirit of Halloween.

The witches hat retails at £1.99 and I love the silver
web pattern on this hat.
When I dressed up for Halloween as a child I was always a witch.
My mum would dress me and my sister up in the following:

-a little witches hat that had some funky coloured hair inside

-a witches mask which to be fair was rather uncomfortable

-Black bin bags to make a dress and cloak to go over our clothes

- A broom stick

and
- One year we even had a little cauldron and some witches fingers.

Aldi also sent me some glow sticks that will be fun to use while sat
in the dark watching the films this year. £1.99 .

The great thing about these glow sticks is that they are suitable for both
children and adults.

Last of all I was sent this lovely vampire costume, £7.99.
unfortunately the size they sent me doesn't fit.
However it does look rather pretty with the black and the red.
I think I would make a great kick ass vampire in this outfit.

Aldi also sell a range of costume's for children at £3.99 each
and are ideal for your little monsters to be able to dress up in!

The costumes are bold, bright and full of detail so will make you stand out this Halloween!

So if your going to be dressing up this year, than I would check out Aldi for
fab detailed costumes and accessories.

They are sure to run out quick so if I was you I'd dash to your nearest store asap.
All of Aldi's Halloween special buys will be on sale from tomorrow (October 3rd 2013)
